Attractions in Birmingham

Blakesley Hall
Built in 1590, Blakesley Hall became a museum in 1935 and was damaged by a bomb in 1941. Following extensive renovations, the museum reopened in 1957. As a Grade II historic building, Blakesley Hall has retained its original Tudor architecture and was refurbished using only authentic period pieces and original furnishings. The museum is closed on Mondays.

Birmingham Nature Center
Located two miles south of Birmingham's City Centre, Birmingham Nature Center houses small animal species from around the world, including ring-tailed lemurs, golden-headed lion tamarins, meerkats and Asian small-clawed otters. The center opens daily at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m. during the summer and 4:00 p.m. in the winter.

Ray's Farm
A fanciful place where farm animals, visitors and wildlife coexist, Ray's Farm has wooded trails, a petting zoo and the largest collection of owls in the UK.
The farm is open every day from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

The Birmingham Hippodrome
Located in Birmingham's Chinese Quarter, the Birmingham Hippodrome opened in 1895 and is the home stage of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Cadbury World
Opened in 1990, Cadbury World features artifacts from the Cadbury Chocolate Company. Cadbury World is open daily.

Dudley Zoological Gardens
Opened in 1937, Dudley Zoological Gardens is located on the grounds of an 11th century castle. The zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals and represents many endangered species, including snow leopards, Asiatic lions and African hunting dogs. The zoo is open every day except Christmas.

Drayton Manor Theme Park and Zoo
Opened in 1949, Drayton Manor is an award winning amusement park and zoo where patrons can experience many thrilling rides or see more than 100 species of animals. The park is open daily during season.

Star City
Located just four miles from the Birmingham City Centre, Star City is a leisure destination that offers all types of family friendly entertainment, including a golf complex, casino, cinema, bowling alley, laser station, climbing centre and arcade.

Sea Life Aquarium in Birmingham
Located at Water's Edge in Birmingham, the Sea Life Aquarium is home to more than 4,500 species of aquatic creatures, including hammerhead sharks, black tip reef sharks, moray eels and green turtles. The aquarium is open daily.

Dudley Canal Trust Trips
Established in 1970, the Dudley Canal Trust offers guided educational boat trips through its system of vintage underground canals.
