Getting to Birmingham NEC

The NEC connects directly to the Birmingham International Rail Station. There are many direct trains available from downtown Birmingham. If you cannot take a direct line, take a train to the Birmingham New Street station and then get a connecting train. It takes 10-15 minutes to make the trip from New Street to International Station. When you reach International, take the elevator or stairs to the station interchange. You will see a sign for the NEC entrance on the right.

There are two bus routes from downtown Birmingham to the NEC. Both the 900 and 38 services leave from Moor Street Interchange and drop passengers off at Birmingham International. Check local listings for current schedules and fares.

For those who will be traveling to the NEC from Digbeth, there are a number of transportation options. Once you have reached the Digbeth coach station, it is an easy walk or taxi ride to the Birmingham New Street Station. The coach National Express runs from the Digbeth coach station to the Birmingham Airport. The 900 bus runs between Digbeth and Birmingham International. The trip takes approximately 25 minutes.

The NEC's designated taxi service is ComCab. There are two taxi stations available at NEC. One is at the Piazza main entrance, and the other is at the Atrium 1 entrance.

The NEC is easily accessible from downtown Birmingham and many surrounding areas via car. It is located 8 miles east of downtown Birmingham. Those traveling by car can find routes via M1, M6, M6 Toll, M5, M42, and M40.

All major roads and motorways as well as many maps have clear signs and markings for the NEC. It is important to allow extra driving time when traveling to an event at the NEC, as there is often a significant increase of traffic right around the center. There are over 20,000 parking spaces at the center with parking lots on all four sides of it. During events, the NEC has traffic officers to assist you with finding available parking. It is recommended that you review a map of the center before an event to familiarize yourself with the layout.

The NEC is located within minutes of the Birmingham International Airport. The best way to travel from the airport to the center is on the Air-Rail Link. This free system provides fast, convenient service via two cable drawn trains.
